Grief is a very lonely emotion and it doesn’t matter how many people try to comfort you you are still alone with your thoughts and feelings. That hollow, empty feeling that can be so painfull ~ I know I’ve been there and got the Teeshirt!
 
But you’re not alone and can change he way you feel ~ I promise you. That’s why I wrote this little book of mine.

This began as Paul’s story of his best friend’s grief and how they worked together to resolve it.
 

Then someone challenged me:
 

You tell the story of a “friend”. It is your own story, isn’t it? At least, it seemed to me to be your own story. If so, I wonder, if you would consider to tell your story using “I” ?
 

Don’t feel embarrassed when you tell your own story. This is why books are read. Authors need to be shameless and find the words for what others can’t say.
 

So here is my Story and no hiding behind the facade of my friend. I will tell like it was, what I did to change and how it felt and how it feels to be free of all those horrible feelings.

Foreword
 

This is the “forewordy” thing, the thing you read before you read anything else.
 

So why this book?


originally intended to narrate and write this from the perspective of working with a friend of mine who went through an awful period of his life, he lost somebody, in fact he lost two people in his life in a very short period of time, one through a break up of a marriage and one, he lost someone very close to him, his mother. I intended to describe how I worked with him to help change his life in a way that he could then move on and how he asked me to narrate this in a way that it could be used for others.

Why am I doing this? Because I want everyone to know it is possible to get better, join in with a real life again and find what you need so you too can get the benefit of the things that I did, the things that made dramatic changes, so you can pass this period in your life quickly and easily and know that there is something so much more special at the other side of this.
 

Now you may have lost somebody to the other side, whatever your belief is, you may have just lost someone in your life; you may have lost an animal, someone who gives you total unconditional love. You may have even lost things like a job, finance. All these losses cause so many negative emotions, emotions such as anger, grief, sadness, a whole wealth of feelings that just, well they just do not feel good do they?
 

There’s always exercises in these type of books isn’t there? and there will be some in this book too, and just pick the ones that really have an attraction to you. You do not have to look at them in order, but just pick the things that seem right for you at the time and even if you do not do all the exercises, maybe you do not even do any of the exercises, there is a CD programme here too and each of those tracks will guide you in your mind to the things that can make the big changes and even the small differences, the difference that really makes the difference.
 

Now I do need to warn you ~ the first part of this, the first chapter, the first section, is, well to be honest is downright depressing because I want to tell you about what happened to me and, well, you may have an affinity with that, with the feelings that I felt. You may understand what I was going through because you may be going through that too, or you know somebody who does; sometimes you have a best friend too – yourself. But let me tell you that when you go through that first part, you will know where I was, you will know exactly the starting point, how low, low can be because it can be really very low, so low that sometimes even the bottom of the barrel is higher than I was, I was scraping well below the bottom. But then we will go onto all those other things, the things that really made the difference and make it so.
